Heard much about this book and, in light of the ongoing exam season, was sufficiently intrigued to plunk down the necessary Rs 64/- and snaffle my copy on Amazon.

Exam warriors‘Exam Warriors’ by Narendra Modi is a colourful, attractive volume aimed principally at senior school students and their parents. In brief, it exhorts its target audience to take a chill pill ‘cos exams ain’t the be-all and end-all! This sound advice is framed within a short, light read replete with practical suggestions and useful tips for youngsters (and parents) taking on the dreaded Board exams, with the ultimate goal of doing away with exam pressure and helping them be calm-and-composed, stress-free exam-warriors-not-worriers. The advice is sensible, the style of writing is chatty and friendly with interesting little activities sprinkled throughout, and it doesn’t bore nor turn preachy.

My 11-year-old had her hooks in it the moment it arrived and says it was a nice read (she promptly abandoned her science revision to learn all the yoga exercises described in the book. She further quoted relevant passages sagely in a breezy but bootless bid to get out of studying at all. That child is so chilled out in exam season she’s practically an ice lolly).

exam stress

A recommended read for students and parents who tend to worry and stress over exams, and for those keen to nail a balanced exam routine. Not recommended for laidback 11-year-olds who wouldn’t recognise exam pressure if you handed it to them on a china plate tastefully garnished with fresh watercress.
